Uncovering Hair Temporarily on a Trip

My hair is always covered in public and mostly at home as well. My question is that I’m considering joining a week long event abroad and it consists mainly of non Jews. I want to be able to go uncovered for the week, and then resume covering once I’m back. Is that something that can be done?

Thank you for your question.

The halachot of head-covering remain in place, even on a trip abroad and even in the presence of mostly non-Jews.

We are not quite sure what is motivating this question. Are there professional concerns for this trip? Do you just feel that you need a break? Regardless of whether your motivation is more professional or personal, you might find it helpful to try out a new kind of head-covering for the trip. This might give you options that address some of your concerns, while maintaining your commitment to Halacha.
